Cynthia was born of 23 October 1996. Both Cynthiaís mother, Only, and her father, Hendry died in 2009 of HIV related illnesses. She has been living with her 64 year-old grandmother Emily Gwedu since she was an infant. Gogo Emily lost 5 of her 6 children to HIV. Her only remaining child is a 31 year-old severely physically and mentally handicapped son Vusumuzi. Emily cares for Cynthia and two other grandchildren, Tony and Edington as well. They live in a 16x16 foot one-bedroom house. Cynthiaís favorite sport is netball. Her favorite color is pink and his favorite food is rice. When she grows up Rejoice dreams of being a teacher. She ranks 11th out of a class of 45. Her best moment was Christmas Day 2009 because she had a good time with her family. Her worst moment was when her mother died. Beyonce is her favorite singer. Cynthia is HIV+ and started on anti-retrovirals in 2010. Her health situation is stable and monitored closely.
