Ackim Sibanda
Ackim was born on December 6 1994. His surname Sibanda means 'lion' in Ndebele. Ackim lost his mother when he was only a few months old in 1995. His mother, Violet Maseko died at the age of 28 in 1997 of HIVrelated illness. His father is Rupean Chavuraya. His father's whereabouts and situation is unknown. Chavuraya is the shona word for Sibanda and since Ackim lives in Ndebele tribal area his name was changed to the Ndebele version. He has been staying with his 62 year-old grandmother Maggie Maposa, ever since. Ackim had a younger sibling who died in infancy. He, his grandmother and two other grandchildren, Sibanisenkosi and Bredly live in a 18x18 foot three room house. Ackim loves chess and drawing. He ís not great at sports. He says he has two left legs! He doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up. He ranks 18th in a class of 43. His favorite sport is soccer and his favorite colour is green. His favorite food is oranges.Ackim's best moment was when he spent New Yearís Eve in 2010 withhis gogo (grandmother in Ndebele). She prepared good food and he played music. He loves to dance. And his worst moment was when he broke his leg. His favorite singer is DJ PIPS a South African. Ackim is in very good health.
