Anele Moyo

Anelle was born on December 18 1996. His surname, Moyo, means heart in Shona. The meaning of his first name, Anele is Iy ís enough in Ndebele. His father, Mthokozisi died in 2003 of HIV/AIDS at the age of 36. He has two older brothers, Nigel and Jerald who live in South Africa. Anele lives with his mother, Perdita who is HIV+ and on anti-retrovirals. He also lives with his uncle who is mentally handicapped and aunt who also lost her husband to HIV. Everyone in the family is HIV+. The four of them live in a 16x16 ft one-bedroom house and rent out one room for income. Anele wants to make his mother proud by studying hard at school because he dreams of becoming a teacher one day. His favorite actor is a local man called Mika who is featured in a local soap called "Makorokoza." He finds Mika's character funny and interesting. Anele's best moment was on Christmas day of 2009 when he spent the day dancing with his friends.They were all happy because his mother had bought them a chicken. Anele enjoys watching and playing soccer. His favorite color is yellow and he loves sadza (a form of polenta that is the staple food of Zimbabwe) and milk. Anele is HIV+ and on anti-retrovirals. He is in stable condition.
