Meet Our Amazing Trustees
Dennis
A native of Massachusetts and U.S. citizen, Dennis has been working with orphans in Bulawayo since 2005. He was also the architect of another orphan project in Nketa. A sculptor, he holds a undergraduate degree in special education and an MBA.
Amalia
A native Bulawayan, Amalia received scholarships to study her A levels at United World College in Wales and to attend Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where she is majoring in chemistry.
Sambulo
Sambulo Dube is an educator and great supporter of our mission to assist and teach our beneficiaries. Born in Bulawayo, attended Teachers College and spent many years teaching in Bulawayo until she relocated to the United States. There she continues to work with children in school settings.
Philippa
Philippa Polsking was born and raised in Bulawayo. She has been a stalwart supporter of Zimkids since the very beginning in 2006. Her Brother Adrian Siskin was critical to our success. Philippa is a public relations executive in New York, specializing in the arts and cultural initiatives.
Tinashe
Director
Tinashe founded Zimkids with Dennis Gaboury when he was just 17 years old and has helped shape and guide it for the past 17 years. With an infectious spirit, he animates the children, surmounts daunting bureaucratic hurdles and keeps the Center filled with music.
Nigel
Raised in Mzilikazi, Bulawayo, Nigel studied Physics at Amherst College and Dartmouth University on scholarship. He went on to receive a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently a working engineer in Illinois.
Hezvo
Raised in Harare, Hezvo moved to the United States after high school and studied computer science and audio/video production. He ran the IT department at the Real News Network in Toronto and is currently a freelance web designer in Durham, North Carolina.
